We’ve all been there, that embarrassing moment when you see that another Page admin has either: A.) Responded to a user in a way that you wished they hadn’t, or B.) Posted something on the Facebook wall that isn’t exactly appropriate.

Said instances can drive a person to the point where it becomes difficult to trust other admins to post to the Facebook Page. When this happens it is unfortunate, as the burden of managing the business’s Page profile usually then falls on one person.

Yes, it’s hard to give up Facbook control and to trust other Page admins, but there are benefits that can arise when the reins of control are loosened. Therefore, rather than completely exhausting yourself through micro-managing other Page admins, or worse, doing the Facebook Page managing and updating on your own, instead lay down some ground rules and get your admins educated.

Ditch the anxiety and feel more confident delegating Facebook control to others, here’s 5 things to do and say to your Facebook admins:

Have a Facebook Training Session

Although not true in all cases, the reality for many businesses is that their employees are clueless as to how to properly use Facebook, let alone help in managing a Facebook Profile Page. Having a mini Facebook training session can help tremendously. Make for certain that even the littlest of tasks, like responding to a user’s wall post, your admins can do. Further, an overview of Facebook’s privacy settings, as they are ever-changing, needs to be done on a basis that is parallel to newly announced Facebook changes.

If you’re not sure, ask!

This is an elementary concept, yet it is important to mention. Whether it be having to respond to a particularly difficult user comment or it is posting any sort of information, the rule of thumb is to always ask for an opinion of another or go in search clarification if unsure. Telling Page admins to ask if unsure before publishing any content on the Facebook Page will likely decrease the amount of errors and corrections that would otherwise have to be made.

Define the Voice of your Page

Each individual has their own voice online, but when representing a company through a Facebook Fan Page the voice of the profile needs to be consistent and true to the business.  Make sure that your Page admins understand the established Page voice and know that they can properly execute using that voice when communicating with users and fans online.

Delegate Facebook Tasks

The most efficient way to manage a Facebook Page with multiple Page admins is to clearly delegate specific Facebook tasks to each admin. Where one admin can be in charge of solely responding to user comments, the other could be responsible for updating the Page with relevant content and wall posts.

Keep Admins to a Minimum

And last, don’t give everyone in your business admin rights to the Facebook Page. Take it to heart, the less people managing a Page, the better. A recommended two or three admins actively updating, responding and managing the profile is best.
