Mark your calendars if you haven’t already, many Facebook changes ahead.
Facebook’s FBML deprecation schedule:
- January 1, 2012: FBML will no longer be supported by Facebook.
- June 1, 2012: FBML apps will cease to function on Facebook.
As of March 11th Facebook started their full transition to iFrames only, phasing out FBML. Since then, Page admins have been unable to create any new FBML apps, but all previously created apps have remained functional on the Facebook platform– that is until June 1st when all FBML apps will stop working.
This may be a worrisome issue for some, but for all ShortStack users, it’s not a problem. ShortStack is all set. To answer all questions regarding whether any of the above dates affect ShortStack or our users, the answer is a resounding no. We’ve been prepared for Facebook’s depreciation of FBML for a long time, you might even say that iFrame functionally is fully “baked-in” to ShortStack.
