According to All Facebook, who covered a post made by The Sociable, Facebook’s new Timeline profile does not support Internet Explorer 7 users. Here’s what All Facebook had to say about this:
“…the old [Facebook] profile comes complete with display issues for IE7 users, as some of the style-sheet language does not mesh well with the browser, according to The Sociable, which added that IE7’s global market share for browsers is just slightly more than 4 percent.”
The only upside, as brought to light by The Sociable, is that for Facebook users loathing the new profile design, they can, in essence, “revert” to the old profile by using Internet Explorer 7 or setting their user agents in Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to IE7.
Don’t expect Facebook to worry too much, though. The Sociable also reports that Facebook has opted against partial Timeline support in IE7, with plans to “phase-out support for Microsoft’s five year-old browser.”
