Building a Campaign from a Template puts you on the fast-track to publishing. When you create a Campaign from a Template that includes contest or promotion features, you’ll notice that Templates aren’t just pre-designed Campaigns, they come complete with pre-designed Forms as well.
But what if that Form doesn’t have the right fields or restrictions in place?
Just like the Campaigns created from Templates, the associated Forms are completely customizable. To customize a Template Form, load the Form in the Form Designer, one of two ways. Find the Form Widget in the Campaign Preview, hover over it, and click on the Edit Form icon. Or, find the Form Widget in the Edit Widgets Panel and click on the Edit Form icon.
Both will direct you straight to the Form Designer, where you’ll see a bank of form fields to add at the left, and a preview of the Form at the right.
Click on a field to add it to the Form. When you do, the Add Field tab will switch to the Edit Field tab automatically so that you can customize that field. Depending on the field, you’ll have different customization options available, but most let you change the title, whether or not it’s required, number of extra points, and more.
If you want to change or delete an existing field, simply find the desired field in the preview at the right, hover over it, and click the pencil icon to edit it, or the trash icon to delete it.
The Form’s name is the name of the Template with “ – Form” added at the end. It’s not necessary to change this name, but if you’d like to, click the Form Settings tab and enter a new name in the field at the top.
Once you’re done with all your edits, click the orange Save Form button, and ShortStack will direct you back to the Campaign Builder to resume work on the Campaign right where you left off.
When the Promotion is over and you’d like to see the entries in your database, click the icon under the Promotion Widget to the left of the Edit Form button to view the Promotion’s entries, export the database, and even pick a winner.
