Announcing Our Google Primer Partnership

Anyone who owns or manages a business takes on many roles. One day you’re the strategist who is trying to move the company forward. The next day you’re the marketer, posting to social media, planning advertising campaigns and crafting email messages to promote new products and special offers.

Sound familiar?

If wearing so many hats leaves you little time for learning, Google Primer to the rescue!

Google created a free mobile app that helps people learn new skills and stay up to speed on marketing trends. All you need are five minutes and a smartphone or tablet. We teamed up with Google to create a marketing lesson that’s focused on contests and giveaways.

Once you download Primer by Google for iPhone and iPad or Android devices (the app and all the lessons are free!), you can start improving your marketing five minutes at a time. We hope the first lesson you look at is the one that’s focused on contests and giveaways.

Here’s a look at what’s covered:

Contests vs. Sweepstakes

Learn about the kinds of giveaways that will help you meet your marketing goals.

Legal Issues

Understand why it’s important to familiarize yourself with the regulations unique to your region.

Contests on Social Networks vs. Landing Pages/Microsites

Learn why hosting a contest/giveaway on social networks can prevent you from reading the widest possible audience.

  • Interactive lessons you can complete in 5 minutes or less
  • Personalized cheat sheets for each lesson
  • New lessons released every week
  • Explore topics including advertising, content, strategy and measurement

Prizes

Get insight on why offering the right prize can make or break your giveaway (tip: the prize doesn’t have to be expensive!).

p.s. If you know any small business owners who are looking for marketing tips, please forward this post to them! Learn more about Primer.
