In just five years, Instagram has exploded in popularity.

At last count, the photo-sharing platform had more than 400 million monthly active users and 75 million daily active users.

But here's a statistic that should really get your attention:

Instagram has 58 times more engagement per follower than Facebook. What's more, judging from the numbers, Facebook growth has plateaued (actually, not a surprise when you realize 93 percent of brands already have a Facebook presence) while Instagram is just getting warmed up: only 36 percent of marketers use Instagram. Convinced Instagram is worth your time? A relatively easy way to gather new Instagram fans and followers, and expand the reach of your brand, is with a simple Photo Vote Contest.

If you've already experimented with marketing on Instagram and been frustrated by the one link we're all allowed in our profiles, we have a workaround you'll like.

You can build a campaign using a ShortStack template, and then just update the campaign as frequently as you want, without having to update the link. You can even host a mix of content -- videos, coupons, newsletter signups, photos -- you name it, as you can see from our own campaign.

There are a few companies that have software solutions promising to automatically schedule posts, but last week Instagram put the kabosh on most of these options.

Thanks to selfstartr for putting this together.
