Media Manager

All plans Last reviewed

The Media Manager houses all of the media that you've uploaded to use in your campaigns. There's also a button you can use to upload new media.

Getting there

From the Dashboard:

  1. Click Manage in the navigation menu.

  2. Select Media from the options.

If Favorited, simply click Media in the top bar of the Home screen.

Media

The media will be displayed cleanly in thumbnails. When you hover over each media asset, you will see the following:

  • The name of the asset

  • The dimensions of the asset (if applicable)

  • The file size of the asset

  • Permissions

  • Copy URL to Clipboard

Permissions

Available on Max Plan.

If you're using ShortStack for Teams to grant access of your account content to other teammates, clicking Permissions (the padlock icon) is where you can set the specific access levels for your team members.

Copy URL to clipboard

By clicking Copy URL to Clipboard (the chain link icon), you will automatically copy a direct link to the media asset to your computer's clipboard, to easily use in a campaign.

Full size view

Click the magnify icon to view the asset at full size, or the pop-out icon to show the file in a new tab (for video/web file types) or download the file (for files like fonts).

Use the Search field in the top-left corner of the page to look through your media assets using a single word or phrase. The Tag field (available on the Max Plan or higher) allows you to search through your assets by typing in a tag that's attached to one or more assets. Your results will automatically be displayed on the right.

Filtering

All of your filtering options appear on the left-hand side; you can use any combination of options to show the exact media assets that fit all of your filter criteria. As you select options, the selected assets appear on the right in real-time. Your options are:

File type

In the File Type filter, you can select your assets by file type. The available file types are:

If you're looking for assets with specific dimensions, you can do so using these fields - the first field allows you to search by width (in pixels) and the second by height.

Sorting

To sort the media assets, click the button next to the number of assets at the top. Your options are to sort your assets by Newest, and Oldest.

Uploading a new media asset

To add a new media asset to your library, click the Upload button in the top-right corner of the screen, or drag and drop a file from your computer into the browser window.

Clicking Upload will bring up a file selector on your computer. You can click to select one file, or if you need to upload multiple at once, just Ctrl-Click (on PC) or Cmd-Click (on Mac) to select more than one. Click Open in the bottom right to add the selected files to your media library.

Working with assets

Click and drag your cursor across the screen to quickly select multiple media assets. There are a couple of other options available when working with media assets; you'll see the bar appear at the top when you've clicked on an asset or assets to highlight them.

Tag

Available on Max Plan.

Clicking the Tag button will allow you to add tags to all of the selected media assets. It also has an area that shows you all the tags already applied to the assets. Just type the tags you wish to add (with a comma between each), hit Enter/Return on your keyboard, then click the blue Save button.

Delete

The other available option is a way to delete multiple assets at once; click each asset to highlight it, then click the Delete button up top. You'll be asked to type in a short phrase to confirm, then click the red Delete button to finalize the deletion.
